When it rains, it pours.

My poor little Ely. #1: He is suffering from infant eczema, a slight rash that appears on the forehead, neck and chest around 3 months and that is irritated by everything: anything not 100% cotton, spit up, wiping, bathing, lotions, powders, detergents, etc. And unfortunately, it can be a signal of other allergies that await us down the road, which stinks because neither one of us is allergic to anything. #2: He is rapidly balding. Losing all of his beautiful chesnut baby hair. I knew babies eventually lose the hair they're born with, I just didn't realize it would come out in clumps in the bathtub! #3: He's teething already. Yep, gnawing on his hands, constantly massaging his gums with his tongue, chewing on cold teething rings (which he's still too young to even hold by himself!), fusses through meals, and often tries to find one of my knuckles to gum on. But despite his little ailments, he is thriving and yes, to everyone's amazement, still sleeping through the night.

And besides all this, he's far surpassed many of the physical milestones associated with the average 3-month-old (well, 2.75 month-old). He's completely over the head-supporting phase; in fact, if you try to lay him down, he'll just yell at you! He could always lift his head up from the day we came home. He's sitting with assistance (and sometimes without), standing and bouncing in his exersaucer (in which he could not even touch the floor 3 weeks ago!), and he's just beginning to reach for things. And somehow, even though he is swaddled, he manages to make it to the far opposite side of the crib every morning - travelling in his sleep! The only thing we still struggle with is tummy time. He hates it with a passion. (any advice from you other moms out there?) But other than that, he seems to be in an awful hurry to grow up and is giving us a run for our money already. I'm learning to savor every moment, even unsightly rashes and baldness, since I'm pretty sure this is probably the only time in my life I'll be going through this!
